Valor of Awards for Saving a Woman's Life

One of my greatest honors is serving and protecting the citizens of Prince George's County. Yesterday, my partner and I received valor of awards for saving a woman's life from her abusive, estranged lover. #DomesticViolence and #ViolenceAgainstWomen is a very serious issue and I am dedicated to ending the epidemics.

I had the privilege to speak words of encouragement to those in attendance. Reminding them as well as myself, that service is not a deed but a lifestyle. I had the wonderful opportunity to encourage and motivate a group of young inspiring artist.
The experience was of great value to me, as I am committed to engaging and protecting every generation. It is important to me that the young people in our community have an opportunity to voice their concerns about the issues that they face. Not only will I serve as a listening ear, but I am also willing to become a voice who speaks on their behalf.

Every woman deserves pay equality, the right to choose, and most importantly the right not to be abused. My goal is simple. It is to make sure that no one is ever treated like a second-class citizen. On my watch, everyone will be afforded justice, peace, and equality.
